This one was made for a contemporary ballet interpretation of Alice in Wonderland. This design can be adjusted to suite your specific needs. I'd be happy to work with you to get the details just so. I use elastic to hold it in place and there is padding added to the interior for maximum comfort while performing.

This is not made from a pre-bought form, but hand made with care from the beginning. I use newspaper, paperboard (Cheerio boxes are my favorite), paper mache glue (flour, water, and PVA glue) and hand made paper mache clay (toilet paper, joint compound, flour, PVA glue, baby oil, and cornstarch). I choose not to use the sheets of plaster cast as I do not know their ecological footprint and they are thicker than I like.
Each of these masks takes me about 50 hours from design to shipping. If it is a subject that I have done something similar to, I can do it faster. But I tend to be a stickler for shape. It's got to look just right and the effect isn't lost when it is put on. Which means at certain phases I'm tracking down family members and friends to try it on for me. I love my testers! A mask should always add to a performance, not distract. Both the audience and the wearer should be able to get lost in the character. This kind of attention to detail takes thoughtful time and sometimes ripping into it to try a different method or angle. Plus, it's paper mache – glue has got to have time to dry.
