The Spalted Tamarind wood was turned down in our wood shop in Florida and was finished with Shellac. Shellac is a resin secreted by the female lac bug on trees in the forests of India and Thailand. It is natural and commonly sold for food glaze and wood finishes.
Here is a pen straight out of Victorian science fiction and the industrialized 19th century.
