Setting the time
You will need to grasp the crown (button at the top) tightly and pull. When you hear a click you will be able to turn the crown/button to set the time. Once you have set the time you will need to press the button firmly back towards the watch until you feel or hear a click.
Winding your pocket watch
You may wind your watch fully every day of use. Turn the winding crown (same button you set the time with) clockwise. It is best to observe the mainspring while winding to prevent over winding. It is located between the '10' and the face center. When loose the coils are relaxed into their outer area. At about 10 twists you will still see space between the coils. Around 15 twists or so is fully wound but each watch is a little different. You need to stop before you feel resistance, so that the mainspring will not become frozen due to winding it too tight. Once the time is set just rock your watch back and forth to active the kinetic energy.
The mainspring is made to wind up all the way once a day. Most watches will run 26-30 hours on a full winding, but there can be exceptions.
